Burcom General Contractor (“Burcom”, “we”, “us”) is owned and operated by Francois Burger. This policy explains what information we collect when you contact us or use burcomgc.com, what we do with it, and what we will never do with it.
We are a one-person contracting business. We collect the minimum needed to quote and carry out work, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone.

- What you tell us about the job, including anything you type into a form or send by text
- Photographs you send us of the work
Information collected automatically
When you visit burcomgc.com, standard web server and analytics information may be recorded, such as your approximate location, browser type, the pages you viewed and the site that referred you. This is used to understand how the site is performing. It is not used to identify you personally.
How we use your information
- To prepare and send you a written estimate
- To contact you about that estimate, schedule the work and keep you updated while it is under way
- To invoice you and take payment
- To answer questions and handle any problem after the work is finished
- To send you occasional offers or service reminders, only if you have separately agreed to receive them
- To meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations
Text messages and mobile information
If you give us your mobile number and tick the relevant consent box, we may text you. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of getting an estimate or having work done.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, or STOP to unsubscribe at any time. Replying STOP ends marketing texts immediately, and we will honour it across every channel we use.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone for their own marketing.
We share the minimum necessary with service providers who help us run the business, and only so they can perform that service for us:
- The customer management and messaging platform we use to store contacts, send estimates and handle texts and email
- Our payment processor, when you pay an invoice
- Our accountant, for tax and bookkeeping
- A specialist trade, where a job needs a licensed plumber, electrician or roofer, and only with your knowledge
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and job records for as long as needed to run the business and meet our tax, insurance and legal obligations, which is generally seven years for anything relating to paid work. If you asked for a quote and never went ahead, tell us and we will delete your details.
Your choices
- Stop texts. Reply STOP to any message.
- Stop emails. Use the unsubscribe link, or reply and ask.
- See what we hold. Email or call and we will tell you.
- Have it deleted. Ask, and we will delete anything we are not legally required to keep.
Security
Your information is held in password-protected accounts on established business platforms. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we do not keep customer details in spreadsheets on unsecured devices or share logins.
Children
This site and our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date at the top.
